Most people living in Singapore love black and white homes for their unique aesthetic qualities. On my arrival in Singapore I was initially drawn to the distinctive black and white striped bamboo blinds that provide shade on the verandas of these stately homes.

Singapore's B & W bungalows were originally built during the British colonial days and are located in various parts of the Island. Hidden in the thick jungles of Singapore they seem to carry with them stories of the past. I can imagine a time in Singapore when the everyday life must have been very different to what it is today. It is because of these stories, that are still lingering on in these old grand houses, that I chose them as my subject matter to be depict through this series of art works.

Through these Black and Whites I hope to share more of the stories that
Singapore has to share.
