Looking at Singapore through the eyes of a textile artist I have asked myself the question;  “What are the elements that capture the essence of, and best represent Singapore?” In trying to find a response to this I have once again been confronted with the fact that Singapore is a multi-cultural society.
It is this mix of cultures that has made Singapore such a visually stimulating subject matter to be inspired by, and on which I have once again based my artworks.

Through this series I hope to capture some of the ethnic diversity found in Singapore today. In order to do this I have looked at different elements such as the architecture, scenes from everyday life and common everyday objects.

Through this body of work I aim to take my viewer on a visual and tactile journey as they take a close-up view of "Singapore Silk Screened".
