I love the veil that heavy rain creates. Visions are softened and a mysterious calm is created. Blue tones are seen, as the heat of the forest lifts and a vapoury mist rises over the tree tops. Light reflects in water puddles and droplets form like crystals on the tips of leaves. Vertical lines, mimicking the rain, cover much of the surface of my canvas . I’ve also used little sparkling crystals to mimic the sparkles of raindrops.

The forest is shown from both a distance and close up images, which gives the viewer both a far away perspective and a sense of being close up to the trees themselves.

These particular images were all photographs taken in the rainforest here in Singapore’s MacRitchie Reservoir.

Each panel is 160cm x 85cm , allowing it to stretch to 260 cm across. This large expanse enables the artwork to create a whole new atmosphere in the room, the mood in the space is now calming and reflective.
