This skyline scene juxtaposes the old and the new. Historical buildings like The Fullerton Hotel to the right of the artwork has been dwarfed by shiny new skyscrapers. From low shophouses to bedazzling skyscrapers, Singapore’s cityscape has been constantly evolving over the past 50 years - and it still continues today. Marina Bay Sands, on the left of the artwork is a symbol of grandeur and opulence. As millions of dollars are exchanged in the MBS casinos, the golden skies are a reflection of Singapore’s prosperity and growth.
