The Singapore Botanical Gardens is a over 150-year-old tropical garden located near the main shopping belt of Singapore. Recently honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; it is the only tropical garden to receive this honour.
Bird’s Nest ferns are large, leafy ferns commonly found growing on or near trees in Singapore. Long leaves or fronds sprout from a central stem, forming a nest shape. Hardy and low maintenance, they are popular houseplants in the tropics.

This artwork also features Peranakan Tiles in the upper left corner. These six different Peranakan Tiles were found and photographed during hikes at Bukit Brown, a heritage site. In the 1900s, these tiles were imported from Britain, other European countries, or Japan.
