Acrylic Painting, Silkscreen Printing & Stitchwork on Canvas

In 1800s Singapore, Bumboats used to ply the Singapore River transporting goods, dirt and refuse. They were essential to Singapore’s commercial activities for over a hundred and fifty years. Presently, after being outfitted with motors and a fresh coat of paint, these “River Taxis” have a new lease of life - ferrying sightseeing tourists who come from all over the world to experience this historic river.

The photograph used in this artwork was taken at Boat Quay, Singapore.
