Artwork Description

‘Green Divas’ stand tall as they put on a theatrical show. Dappled sunlight illuminates the production. Everyday nature shows us her beauty … How often do we run outdoors to meet her? This mixed-media artwork is made up of a collage of images that I found in green spaces here in Singapore. In The Botanical Gardens I discovered a beautifully shaped tree that looks like a large bonsai. In the thick jungles of Bukit Brown I climbed over fallen trees and pushed overgrown branches aside to reach the famous Avatar trees of Singapore! A breath-taking moment of awe when they were first seen! These Green Divas are a reminder of the lush greenery that was here in Singapore long before skyscrapers were built. Thankfully, in the Garden City, green pockets still thrive and are cultivated and well loved. In return they continue to put on grand productions daily.
