Artwork Description

“The Singapore Girl” has become an icon of Singapore. She is particularly famous for her beautiful uniform, which is made of a textile with a batik print. It is this iconic batik that I’ve used in this artwork. The original colours have been simplified to tones of green. On top of this textile a paper-like sculpture is found hanging. This too is a stylised  design inspired by the original batik. For the final layer of this acrylic artwork , the design is once again simplified into a pattern made only of dots , highlighting the iconic dots that are associated with batik patterns. This artwork is a celebration Singapore style and the Singapore brand.

Shipping & Delivery

For local orders, delivery and installation is complimentary.

For international orders, canvas artworks will be taken off the frame and delivered rolled up in a sturdy cardboard tube. Framing instructions will be included, which can be taken to any framer.
Delivery via DHL is complimentary.
