Artwork Description

The Peranakans' love for lavishness and extravagance extended to all levels of their lives. Peranakan porcelain wares were characteristically intricate with bold colours.

A typical motif is the Phoenix - symbolising the matriarchal structure of a Peranakan household.

Tea flowing from such a beautiful teapot would surely soothe the soul.
