Artwork Description

Looking out my window, I am surrounded by lush tropical plants. These plants are essential to my well-being and I truly feel like they nourish and uplift my spirit, as I paint.

‘The Oasis’, is a reflection of this. A home surrounded by nature where you know you can return to after a long day. An oasis  is —a place where you can find safety and sustenance. Although the literal meaning of oasis is "a green spot in the desert," it can also be used to describe a peaceful area in our everyday lives.

 In this particular shophouse, I loved the way the architecture itself reflects nature. Circular windows contain bamboo shaped ceramic detailing. In order to highlight this I  have repeated this bamboo motif throughout the artwork. A large palm leaf and a Frangipani tree create a canopy over the entrance, welcoming you back home, to your very own oasis.

In particular, I love these bamboo inspired windows. To draw attention to this I’ve played with scale and repeated this motif 3 times. The oasis is a place  to retreat to where you can rest, relax and get rejuvenated. Often, it’s a small safe area away from the busyness of the outside world. For me, ideally a home should be like a personal oasis, surrounded by lush green tropical foliage.

Shipping & Delivery

For local orders, delivery and installation can be arranged.

For international orders, canvas artworks will be taken off the frame and delivered rolled up in a sturdy cardboard tube. Framing instructions will be included, which can be taken to any framer.
