“The Summer Peranakans” celebrates this colourful culture. Peranakan is a word that means ‘ locally born’. Peranakan is a blend of Chinese & Malay culture. This particular group of people are known and the Straits Chinese, a unique culture was formed when these two cultures came together. Today Peranakans are known for their unique brightly coloured porcelain, delicious food and of course their colourful Shophouses.
